Life, Love, Laughter & Loss: Memories of the way we were - 18 August 2008 - 30 August 2008

PAST EXHIBITION:  LIFE, LOVE, LAUGHTER & LOSS: MEMORIES OF THE WAY WE WERE

An exhibition providing a glimpse into the lives of a group of women living in central London over the last 80 years. Memories of childhood and womanhood illustrate the central themes of the exhibition: life, love, laughter and loss, helping us to understand the way we were.

The women who are the focus of this exhibition are all members of the Westminster Community Reminiscence & Archive Group (WCRAG) who meet at the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms. Counterbalancing this with the perspective of a younger generation, artist Jonathan Boast has worked with youth groups in the Pimlico area using the memories of the WCRAFG ladies to produce a painted centrepiece mural for the exhibition.

The exhibition was created by City of Westminster Archives and Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms with financial support from Land Securities.
