UNTOLD
- AN EXPLORATION OF IDENTITY IN OLD AGE.
The Arts and Minds project
The idea behind the Arts and Minds project and the new publication - to be launched at the UNTOLD exhibition - is to highlight the value of art in supporting the well-being of older people in care. The arts project took place in three care settings in Westminster in November 2007 and involved 52 older people, some with dementia and other mental health illnesses.
Arts and Minds aimed to transform the quality of people’s lives and make the relationship between carer and cared-for, imaginative, rewarding and fun. The participants’ response to the project has been overwhelming, with real evidence of improved agility, confidence and happiness.
